About a year ago my wife and I relocated from Palm Beach to central Florida. For me, the move allowed me to shift my business to do more of what I really enjoyed – millwork. I’ve worked in huge mansions. I’ve worked on mega yachts. While all of that is neat, however, for me I found I’d rather be working in my shop making sawdust. I guess I really enjoy being covered in sweat and sawdust. There’s something fulfilling about it for me. So with the move, I began to focus more on millwork.

New Equipment

As I focused on millwork, I began to find more and new customers for various types of millwork projects. With those new projects, I learned my current equipment wasn’t up to the heavy demands required to mill material all day long. Over the last year I’ve been replacing and upgrading equipment throughout my shop to allow me to be efficient and to offer more services. Apart from my normal shop equipment, I’ve now got a 25″ planer with a helical head, a 4 headed molding machine, dedicated gang rip saw, a 50″ drum sander, and a 6000CFM dust collector hooked to all of the machines.

As I do more of this type of work, I find that I’m having a blast with it. I’m also eyeing new equipment to help me provide even more of these sawdust making services. I look forward to seeing where this path takes me.
