Tambour Wall Paneling
We manufacture two different types of tambour wall paneling. Flexible backed panels and tongue and solid wood tongue and groove tambour panels AKA “Tambour Trim”.
Flexible Backed Tambour Panels
Our flexible backed tambour panels are solid strips of shaped wood glued to a flexible paper backer. The panels are normally 12″ wide (some profiles may have other widths based on the width of the individual molding) and are available up to 12′ long. Since the backer is flexible, it’s ideal for wrapping columns or going around curved walls. Also, since the panels are thin, many companies are using them applied to cabinet door and drawer fronts.

Tambour Trim
We designed Tambour Trim as a budget option for getting the tambour look without the expense of flexible backed tambour. Making the flexible backed tambour panels is very labor intensive. Simply put, to manufacture flexible backed tambour panels, we take wide boards, mill them to narrow strips, run the strips through the molder, then glue the strips to a backer. By eliminating many of those steps, we’ve created an easy to install budget friendly product that’s ideal for flat surfaces.
The panels are tongue and groove which assures alignment with the adjacent pieces. Without the tongue and groove, it’s easy to get the alignment slightly off (especially if the wall isn’t perfectly flat) and then the joint becomes noticeable. That’s not ideal. With the tongue and groove, it guarantees perfect alignment every time.
